If you've been living under a rock, you may not have heard that Tommy Hilfiger released their very first adult adaptive collection. This is a big deal to the differently-abled community! What an incredible step for a major brand to take, helping to change the way we embrace diversity in the fashion industry. I had the honor of actually being a part of this campaign, and got to try on some of the pieces from the new Tommy Adaptive collection

Here's a behind-the-scenes look into my shoot for the fall Tommy Adaptive collection!

Get the look here:

Left: Strip Shift Dress [link]

Adaptive feature: Concealed magnetic closures at the shoulders that conveniently expand the neck opening for easy dressing.

Right: Classic Jean Jacket [link]

Adaptive feature: Magnetic closures at the front placket and cuffs, disguised to look like buttons. VELCRO® brand touch fasteners at the chest pockets making access easy.

One of my favorite pieces from the collection (and trust me, I have a lot of favorites) is this soft navy sweatshirt (Signature Sweatshirt) with magnetic closures at the neck opening. When wearing my prosthetic arm, it can be difficult to get in and out of shirts. For me, the large opening makes it easy for me to change!

Also, can we talk about the one-handed zipper the new collection offers? This is so important to me since, well, in case you haven't noticed... I have one hand. Growing up I struggled to zip my own jacket. My mother always made sure people didn't run to help me, knowing that I should be learning on my own. The new one-handed zipper has changed everything for me!

Get the Signature Zip Jacket here.

So thank you, Tommy Hilfiger, for taking a change on a new venture with the Adaptive Collection. We should never have to sacrifice style for practicality, and I'm beyond ecstatic about these new pieces that help so many people.
